New York Islanders

Established in 1972, the New York Islanders are one of three NHL franchises in the New York Metro area. After seeing instant success in the mid-1970s, the Islanders would go on to win four straight Stanley Cup championships in the early '80s. Known as one of the eight recognized dynasties in NHL history, their 19 straight playoff wins between 1980-84 is a feat that remains unparalleled in the world of professional sports. Calling Long Island home for the over 40 years, the team made the move to Brooklyn during the 2015 off-season.
