At RTXP Amsterdam, 50 of the most famous paintings in history have been recreated by today's artists. The works are hung in chronological order so that you walk through the evolution of painting, seeing how styles and approaches to painting morphed and informed one another dialectically over time. The journey begins at Hieronymus Bosch's world-famous medieval triptych, The Garden of Earthly Delights, and continues into the Renaissance via the Mona Lisa towards the 17th century with Rembrandt. From there, you'll proceed to examples of 19th-century Romantic paintings, 20th-century Impressionism and Expressionism, and then to the Modern Art of Mondrian, Picasso, and more.
