Discover the treasures of the ancient oriental world
The Turin Mao is considered one of the major museums in Italy and even Europe, thanks to its expertise and research in the field of Oriental art. Step in and enjoy a journey through the art of ancient Asian cultures. The galleries are arranged over the three levels and contain art from South and Southeast Asia, the most important Italian collection of Chinese funerary art spanning a period from the Neolithic age to the Tang period (10th century CE), religious and secular art from Japan, art from the Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal and Bhutan) and a smaller but fascinating collection of Islamic art. The ground level contains two exquisite Japanese Gardens that are perfect for a stroll on a sunny day.
